Michael T. Trucco

Mr. Trucco's practice focuses on the defense of many different types of civil litigation in the state and federal courts, including commercial and business litigation; the defense of attorneys, physicians and health care providers; the defense of toxic tort claims; and the defense of employers in employment law matters and restrictive covenant litigation. In addition, he counsels corporations and other business entities in governance and operational issues.

Mr. Trucco is a graduate of Bradley University and DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the DePaul Law Review.

Mr. Trucco is a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. His trial experience includes more than 35 jury trials, numerous bench trials in the state and federal courts and contested matters before arbitration panels and the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Committee on Infractions. He has argued many appeals in the state and federal courts. Mr. Trucco is Past-President of the DePaul University College of Law Alumni Board and has served as Adjunct Professor in the Pretrial Litigation and Clinical Trial Advocacy at the Northwestern University School of Law. He has lectured and written on many topics including coauthoring the chapter on expert testimony in the 2005 and 2013 IICLE Medical Malpractice Handbook. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association Committee on Attorney Malpractice and also a past chair of that committee. He is also a member of the American, Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute, The Society of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Trucco has been elected an Illinois “Super Lawyer” in every year since the award began in 2005.
